EXAMS

Exams in Guitar playing are offered by four main music colleges.

They can be done in person (face-to-face) or digitally online.

There are eight grades and in addition some easier pre-grade exams.

UCAS points are earned from grade six onwards. See the table below.

In the links for each college you can access more information about these exams and the rules and regulations for each syllabus.

In addition Trinity exams can be booked directly with me as this website is an official Trinity exam centre.

Broadly, in person exams require three pieces from the syllabus and a variety of scales and arpeggios, aural tests and musical knowledge.

For online exams a video is submitted with three pieces (ABRSM four) performed in one take. There is advice and guidance for these recordings from their websites.
